Am I Ready for HYROX? Here’s How to Actually Know

Short answer: don’t guess. Test it.

“Ready” isn’t a feeling. It’s a set of numbers. Your station splits, your run pace, your transition time, measured against what it actually takes to hit your goal finish time.

Most athletes who ask “am I ready” haven’t looked at those numbers yet. So they train hard, show up on race day, and find out the hard way where the gaps were.

There’s a better way.

What “ready” actually means

HYROX has published benchmark data for every division and finish-time goal. Open, Pro, men’s and women’s splits, station by station. If you want to finish in 75 minutes, there’s a real number for how fast your SkiErg needs to be, how long your sled push should take, and what pace you need on each of the eight 1km runs.

Compare your current numbers to those benchmarks and “ready” stops being a guess. You’ll know exactly which stations are on pace and which ones are costing you the most time.

The free HYROX Assessment

We built a free 12-week athlete assessment to do exactly this. It’s the same intake we use with our own coaching athletes, and we’re opening it up for free.

Here’s what it covers:

  • Your goal. First HYROX, a specific finish time, or competing seriously

  • Your current fitness and training background

  • Estimated or actual times on each station. Sled, SkiErg, wall balls, farmers carry, and the rest

  • Your running pace and experience

  • Equipment access and weekly training schedule

  • Injury history, so the plan works around your body, not against it

Fill it out and you’ll get back a personalized report. Your numbers stacked up against real benchmark bands for your gender and goal, with your biggest gaps flagged first. If you’re racing somewhere other than home, we factor that in too.

Takes about 10 minutes. Costs nothing.

Common questions

I’ve never done a HYROX. Can I still take this?

Yes. Most of the questions work off estimates if you don’t have real numbers yet. That’s normal for a first assessment.

Is it actually free?

Yes. No credit card, no catch. You get the report either way.

Do I have to sign up for coaching after?

No. Plenty of athletes just want the numbers. If you want help closing the gaps, we’re here. The report stands on its own.

How is this different from guessing based on how training feels?

Feel is unreliable. A station that feels fast can still be 40 seconds off pace. Numbers don’t lie to you the way effort does.

Know where you stand before race day does.
